Omaha Police early Wednesday arrest a man after a stand off at an apartment building at 47th and Cuming Streets.
Police say it began around 10 p.m. Tuesday when officers were called to the scene on a report of a man with a gun, and arriving officers heard a gunshot as a perimeter was set up.
Investigators say after hours of negotiations, the Emergency Response Unit fired tear gas into the place, more shots were fired toward police, the man dropped the weapon and then charged officers.
They subdued him with pepper balls.
Police say they did not use their firearms outside of the pepper balls.
