EX-PREZ GEORGE W. BUSH HONORS JETER IN TEXAS: Former President George W. Bush was on hand last night as the Texas Rangers honored Derek Jeter in a ceremony before his last game at Globe Life Park in his final season. As part of the celebration, Bush surprised the New York Yankees shortstop by coming out on to the field to present him with a framed autographed photo of the two of them from the 2001 World Series at Yankee Stadium. On that night, seven weeks after the 9/11 attacks, Bush threw out the first pitch before Game 3. Jeter had advised Bush, "Don't bounce your throw, or they'll boo you."
