(Council Bluffs, IA) -- Two people are arrested following a pursuit in Council Bluffs.

Council Bluffs Police say 42 year old Suzanne Labastida is facing charges of felony eluding, while 26 year old Evan Christina was arrested for criminal mischief following the incident. Investigators say officers were called to the Super Saver grocery store near N. Broadway around 9:30 Tuesday morning for a report of a man, later identified as Christina, slashing tires on a car in a handicap parking spot.

Police say once officer got to the scene, Christina had gotten into a silver Chevy Equinox driven by Labastida, which had fled the scene on northbound N. Broadway. Investigators say a Pottawattamie deputy spotted the vehicle, and tried to make a stop, but Labastida refused to pull over and a pursuit ensued.

Stop sticks were eventually deployed on westbound Kanesville and the car came to a stop near 16th and West Broadway where both Labastida and Christina were arrested. During the chase, the car lost control and hit the side of the Omni Parking Garage near 2nd and West Broadway. Police say minor damage was done to the building.
