$800,000 worth of meth found during Lancaster County traffic stop

(Lancaster County, NE) -- Hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of methamphetamine are found during a traffic stop in Lancaster County.

The Lancaster County Sheriff's Office says just after 2:30 Wednesday afternoon, members of the Criminal Interdiction Task Force pulled over a Toyota Camry for following too close on I-80 near downtown Lincoln. Investigators say during the traffic stop, probable cause was developed to search the vehicle. During a search of the vehicle, LSO says officers found 18.5 lbs of suspected methamphetamine, 40 grams of suspected fentanyl, used syringes, user amounts of suspected methamphetamine as well as $2,620 in cash.

LSO says 37 year old Judith Ann Deandrade, of Las Vegas, Nevada, and 35 year old Arica Marie Downs, of Rumford, Maine, were arrested on charges of possession of Methamphetamine with intent to deliver (more than 140 grams), possession of money while violating NRS 28-416 and evading drug tax .

The sheriff's office says the street value of the methamphetamine is approx. $800,000.
