(Lancaster County, NE) -- A California man is behind bars in Lancaster County after hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of meth is found in his vehicle.

The Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office says on Friday, members of the Criminal Interdiction Task Force pulled over a truck, with California plates, on I-80 just west of Lincoln for following too closely. Sheriff Terry Wagner says during the traffic stop, a K9 officer was deployed for reasonable suspicion.

During the search of the truck, Wagner says task force members found 20 pounds of methamphetamine under the rear seat of the pick up truck. Sheriff Wagner says the methamphetamine was headed for Omaha and has a street value of $450,000. 25 year old Jesus Sanchez-Meza, of Chula Vista, California, was arrested on charges of possession of methamphetamine with intent to deliver.
