(Sarpy County, NE) -- A man former employed by Omaha Public Schools as a security guard is headed to trial, accused of sexually assaulting a child.

On Tuesday, 23 year old Carlos Ramirez waived his right to a preliminary hearing in Sarpy County, meaning the case will now go to trial. Ramirez is charged with first and third-degree sexual assault of a child. He's accused of sexually assaulting a student at Pawnee Elementary School. Ramirez was arrested in December after students reported that a security guard, later identified as Ramirez, may have had sexual contact with a student on school property.

The police report says the incident happened after school hours in a portable classroom. A trial date has not been set at this time.
