OPS moves to remote learning, Bellevue closed due to potential high winds

(Omaha, NE) -- Forecasted storms on Wednesday that could bring dangerous strong winds is forcing Omaha Public schools to move to remote learning.

Tuesday afternoon, OPS released a statement that said due to the predicted inclement weather, they are canceling in-person classes and school related activities for Wednesday, making it a remote learning day for all OPS students. Omaha Public Schools Foundation Kids Club is also closed. The district says all students will experience “live” or synchronous teaching and learning in the morning, with teacher availability for questions later in the day. Teachers will take attendance.

Meanwhile, Bellevue Public Schools announced Tuesday evening that they would be closing completely on Wednesday due to the potential severe weather.
