Adrian Martinez will not play in Nebraska's final game of the season

(Lincoln, NE) -- Nebraska starting Quarterback Adrian Martinez will miss the last game of this season.

On Monday, Husker Head Coach Scott Frost announced that Martinez would not play in Nebraska's Black Friday game against Iowa due to a shoulder injury he suffered in the first half of last weekend's loss to Wisconsin. “Feel terrible for him, appreciate him," Frost said.

Frost said he is encouraging Martinez to walk with the senior players for the game, saying he needs to be honored alongside his teammates. Logan Smothers and Heinrich Haarberg could step in at QB, Frost said. Running back Rahmir Johnson is also unlikely to play in Friday's game.
