One person killed in single-vehicle crash in Northwest Omaha

(Omaha, NE) -- One person is dead following a single-vehicle crash in Northwest Omaha.

The Omaha Police Department says just before 9:30 Wednesday morning, officers were called to a crash near 74th and Sorensen Pkwy. Investigators say neighbors reported hearing a loud crash in the early morning hours, but didn't see anything until it was light out and they found a 2002 Nissan Pathfinder on it's roof. Police say the Nissan was westbound on Sorensen Pkwy when it left the roadway and went down a ravine. The vehicle then rolled several times until it landed on its roof. The driver, and sole occupant, was pronounced dead by OFD Medics at the scene.

Police say alcohol use is being investigated as a contributing factor. The crash remains under investigation at this time. The victim's name is being withheld until next of kin have been notified.
