Omaha Police: Victim shot Tuesday night during struggle over money

(Omaha, NE) -- One person suffers non-life threatening injuries in a Tuesday night shooting.

Omaha Police say officers were called to the area of 26th and Mason just before 11:00 Tuesday night for a report of an assault and shots fired. Investigators say a group of juveniles initially told officers that an unknown black male fired a gun at the group. While officers were at the scene a shooting victim, 20-year-old Dasani Ball, arrived at the Nebraska Medical Center.

Police say officers interviewed the juveniles remaining at the scene. Investigators determined that the initial account of events was not accurate, and that a juvenile had fired a shot at Ball during a struggle over cash. The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information is urged to contact Omaha Crime Stoppers at (402) 444-STOP, at www.omahacrimestoppers.org or on the P3 Tips mobile app.
