Numbers Out On Omaha Area Gang Activity Crackdown

The U.S. Marshal Service Metro Fugitive Task Force teams up with Omaha and Lincoln Police and the Douglas, Sarpy, and Lancaster County Sheriff's offices in targetting criminal gangs, and 231 arrests were made in the operation.

The task force reports 144 gang members were picked up along with numerous firearms and illicit drugs.

Named in honor of fallen law officers Kerrie Orozco, of the Omaha Police Department, and U.S. Deputy Marshal Paul Keyes, "Triple Beam/Operation K.O." focused on gang arrest warrants, and gang suppression and intervention.

Kerrie Orozco died in the line of duty as she and other members of the task force attempted to serve a warrant on a shooting suspect in 2015.

Keyes, a task force team leader, passed away in 2018 from cancer.
