Omaha Police Crack Down On Vehicle License Violations

Officers from all five precincts and the Traffic Unit took part in operations focused on unlicensed vehicles being operated in the City of Omaha between August 4th and September 10th.

Police say during that time, 816 citations were issued for the following 1,023 total offenses:

-- No Valid Registration: 689

-- City Registration Violations: (Wheel Tax) 183

-- Unlawful Display of Plates: 80

-- Failure to Display Two Plates: 28

-- Plates Required to be Clean/Legible: 9

-- No Proof of Ownership: 35

The City asks people to please remember to properly register and plate your vehicle within 30 days of initial purchase, renew plates on time annually, and, upon renewal, apply the new stickers in the upper right hand corner.
