Omaha Police find suspect hiding in dryer following barricade situation

(Omaha, NE) -- Omaha Police officers find a suspect hiding in a clothes dryer during a barricade situation at a home near Park Avenue and Dodge Street.

Omaha Police say the Metro Fugitive Task Force had been searching for the 32-year-old suspect when he barricaded himself in the home Thursday afternoon. WOWT 6 News reports that SWAT officers were seen escorting the man out of the home about 45 minutes after they were seen going in.

OPD Sgt. Aaron Hanson says they are not identifying the man at this time, but said that he was wanted on numerous charges, including violent charges. Officers entering the home found two women, four children and a large dog they described as “potentially aggressive.” Hanson says during the arrest, police found two guns and were waiting on a warrant to further search the residence.
