High Summer Temps Settle In

WOWT 6 News "First Alert" meteorologist Rusty Lord says Friday highs should reach the mid '90's with dew points in the '60's, and a southerly breeze. He says that means it will feel as hot as 100° at times in the afternoon because of those dew points.

A "Heat Advisory" will be in effect from Noon to 8 p.m. CDT on Saturday with temps in the mid to upper '90's widespread on Saturday and Sunday, and heat index values up to 105 are possible.

It is also possible that afternoon highs could fall a degree or two short of the forecast if the wildfire smoke thickens at times Saturday and Sunday afternoon.

Rusty says there is a small chance of a few late afternoon or evening storms Sunday that could last into very early Monday.
