OPD: Man accused of sexually assaulting a juvenile may have other victims

(Omaha, NE) -- The Omaha Police Department say a man who is accused of sexually assaulting a juvenile, may have other victims.

Omaha Police say on June 17th, a juvenile victim reported that 36 year old Dennis Smith sexually assaulted her in the area of 44th and Dodge Street. OPD says an arrest warrant for Smith was drafted by detectives in the Child Victim Sexual Assault Unit. Omaha Police worked with the Council Bluffs Police Department to locate Smith and take him into custody on Thursday. Smith is currently in custody at the Pottawattamie County jail as a fugitive from justice and is expected to be extradited to Omaha.

The investigation is ongoing, but detectives believe there may be additional victims.
