Big Week For Snakes At Omaha Zoo

The Omaha Henry Doorly Zoo and Aquarium makes history earlier this week with the facility's first -time birth of four eastern indigo snakes.

The reptiles came into the world on Wednesday and Thursday, and Friday just happened to be "World Snake Day."

After they can feed on their own, they will be visible in the "Desert Dome's" Sunroom.

These births are part of a recommendation from the "Eastern Indigo Species Survival Plan."

The Omaha zoo has been part of that program since 2002.
