Petition Effort For Nebraska Voter I-D's Launched

A group called "Citizens For Voter I-D" has filed the paperwork to start an initiative petition effort to put to a vote of the people a constitutional amendment dealing with Nebraska voting.

The amendment would require voters in the Cornhusker State to present a photo i-d at the polls.

To get the proposal on the ballot, 10 percent of registered voters in the state will have to sign the petition by July 8th of 2022.

The effort is sponsored by State Senator Julie Slama, former State Senator Lydia Brasch, and Douglas County Republican Party Chairwoman Nancy McCabe.
