"Nebraska Task Force One" Program Director Brad Thavenot has joined a FEMA Urban Search and Rescue Command element involved in the desperate search for those missing in the rubble of a Surfside, Florida apartment building.
The Nebraska group is one of 28 urban search and rescue teams in the national disaster response system under FEMA.
The Omaha, Papillion, Council Bluffs, Beatrice, and Grand Island Fire Departments provide personnel to the Nebraska task force.
