Single Game Wednesday At CWS

It'll be the PAC-12 against the Southeastern Conference Wednesday evening when Stanford and Vanderbilt square off in an elimination game at the College World Series.

First pitch at TD Ameritrade Park Omaha is 6 p.m. CDT, and the ballgame will be televised on ESPN.

Tuesday night at the CWS, Mississippi St. staged a dramatic comeback to defeat Virginia 6 to 5.

The Bulldogs trailed 4 to nothing and had been no-hit through seven innings by "'Hoos" Griff McGarry, when they broke through with 6 runs including two homers in the eighth keying a 6-5 victory.

NCAA.Com reports before that 6-run inning, Virginia had tossed 23 scoreless innings in a row dating back to its third Super Regional game.

MSU also became the first team in CWS history to win a game using eight pitchers

Earlier Tuesday, Tennessee, with alum Peyton Manning in the house, was eliminated by Texas 8-4.
