Hot Weather Settles In As Weekend Approaches

WOWT 6 News "First Alert" meteorologist Rusty Lord says Thursday will be the hottest day yet this week.

Highs will easily make it into the mid 90's today with a heat index value that could hit 100 in the afternoon.

A line of storms that will be approaching from the northwest after 7a.m. Friday has the potential to produce some strong wind gusts and rain on the leading edge impacting the Friday morning commute.

Once the storms move out midday Friday, we should be a little cooler and less humid with a high in the mid 80s.

That will be the coolest for a while as the 90's return as soon as Saturday.

All signs point to another hot and dry week next week as the College World Series gets underway.
