Suspect accused of fatal hit and run during downtown shooting is arrested

(Omaha, NE) -- A man is arrested in connection to a hit and run death that happened after a February shooting in downtown Omaha.

Omaha Police say 24 year old Brandon Mass was arrested this week for leaving the scene of an injury or death accident.

OPD says in the early hours of February 28th, officers patrolling in the area of 12th and Capitol Avenue heard gunfire to the east. Investigators say the officers responded to 10th and Capitol and located multiple victims. Police say a suspect fired shots during an altercation near 10th and Capitol, hitting two people. During the shooting 21 year old Suaquel Hogan was hit by a vehicle that investigators now say was driven by Mass. Hogan was taken to Nebraska Medicine where he died.
