Douglas County Sheriff Tom Wheeler today swears in nine new recruit deputies.
Eight recruits just completed 22 weeks of law enforcement training at the Sarpy - Douglas Law Enforcement Academy.
The other recruit is a pre-certified lateral hire from another Nebraska law enforcement agency.
After being sworn in, the recruits will start their field training observation period which can last up to twelve weeks.
