Papillion has a permanent Police Chief designated. Chris Whitted has been serving as the interim Chief in the Sarpy County seat.
Mayor David Black plans to formally appoint Whitted at next Tuesday's City Council meeting.
Whitted has 27 years of law enforcement experience and has served for years in the U.S. Army Reserves.
Whitted says he's committed to building a progressive police department in Papio that focuses on community-oriented policing.
