Another Covid Variant Shows Up In Douglas County

The Brazil variant of COVID-19 is now in Nebraska.

The State Department of Health and Human Services reports two cases of the "Brazil" or "P-One" variant have been confirmed in Douglas County.

The P-One variant is considered to be more contagious, but experts say vaccines are still effective against the strain, and it shows up in current testing methods.

DHHS says the variant has been spreading throughout the United States.
