Douglas County Commissioner Mike Boyle has non-small cell lung cancer.
His daughter and fellow County Commissioner Maureen Boyle says the cancer was found incidentally on a chest x-ray a few weeks ago, and he had a biopsy on Wednesday.
She says treatment will likely involve chemotherapy and radiation, starting within the next 2 weeks.
She says her father, a former Omaha Mayor and Douglas County Election Commissioner, is upbeat and has no symptoms.
