The Omaha City Council accepts a 22- million dollar federal grant for rental assistance, part of last December's COVID-19 stimulus package.
During the discussion of the funding during the regular weekly meeting, City Council member Chris Jerram called for an accountability system for when residents receive financial assistance.
The Council indicates they would work with local nonprofits to distribute the funds to tenants who qualify.
