City of Omaha launches new mobile app

(Omaha, NE) -- The city of Omaha is launching a new mobile app.

The city says the app provides access to city services, news and social media sites. The Mobile Omaha app also includes links to popular features on city websites such as the Mayor's Hotline, Park Omaha, Wasteline.org and Keepomahamoving.com. From the app, users can access city news, job openings, city department social media pages and the snow plow tracker.

City leaders say the app also includes a link to COVID-19 vaccination information and appoint schedules on the Douglas County Health Department website, the Douglas County Election Commission and the Nebraska DMV.

Mayor Jean Stothert says, "The mobile app is another way for the City to provide convenient access to information and services. Taxpayers benefit from timely, accurate communications."

The app will also allow users to get notifications from city departments, which could include things like traffic announcements, road closings, trash collection notices and public meeting schedules.

The app is now available in the Apple and Google Play stores.
