Two people killed in Sarpy County crash identified

(Sarpy County, NE) -- Two people killed in a Saturday afternoon crash in Sarpy County have been identified.

The Sarpy County Sheriff's Office says 30 year old David Hardy Jr. and 30 year old Sabrina Reynolds were both killed in the crash. A backseat passenger, 26 year old Tanjeneia Bass, also suffered critical injuries in the crash.

Investigators say just after 3:00 Saturday afternoon, a GMC Envoy was eastbound on Interstate 80 near Highway 370, when the driver, Hardy Jr., crossed the median. The Envoy was then hit by a westbound Kenworth Semi tracker and flatbed trailer. The sheriff's office says both vehicles came to rest in the ditch along the westbound lane.

Hardy Jr. and Reynolds, who was in the front seat, were pronounced dead the scene. The driver of the semi was not injured.

The investigation into the cause of the crash is ongoing. Investigators say weather conditions at the time of the crash were poor due to blowing snow in the area.
