Covid -19 Forces Changes At One O-P-S Building

All Highland Elementary students have moved to full remote learning for the rest of the week after seven positive cases of COVID-19 were confirmed in that Omaha Public School building in recent days.

The school is at 26th and Jefferson Streets in Omaha.

This is the first time O-P-S has implemented its 100% remote-learning model since in-person learning resumed.

In a letter to student families, Principal Kerri Murtaugh said four new positive cases had been confirmed at the school this week, making seven positive cases there since early last week.

The Principal says contact tracing has been carried out, and anyone with potential exposure risk has been notified.

The regular Family 3/2 in-school schedule is to resume on Monday after a disinfecting and cleansing of the school.

Meal pick-up is available through the "Meals2Go" program.
