Bellevue Police investigating teen's death as a homicide

An investigation is underway following the death of a Bellevue teen.

Bellevue Police say on Monday, officers were dispatched to a home near 31st Ave and Calhoun for a call of “CPR in progress.” Once on the scene, officers found a 17 year old boy suffering from a gunshot wound. Police say the teen was declared dead at the scene.

At that time, at the police department's request, Bellevue Public Schools put four elementary schools in the area in “lockout,” out of an abundance of caution. The “lockout” was lifted at approximately 2:10 p.m.

Investigators say no other information is available at this time. Anyone with information regarding the case is asked to contact the Bellevue Police Department at 402-293-3100 or Sarpy County Crimestoppers at 402-592-STOP (7867).
