An Omaha woman has died from injuries she sustained in a Sunday night crash at 42nd and Leavenworth.

Omaha Police say just before 10:30, officers were called to the intersection for a two vehicle crash. Investigators say a Dodge Dakota, driven by 58 year old Gary Lane, was southbound on 42nd Street when it was hit by a northbound Ford Focus, driven by 19 year old Sahra Schwartz. Police say the Focus had been travelling at a high rate of speed at the time of the crash.

Both drivers were transported to Nebraska Medicine. Police say Lane suffered an injury to his lower leg that is not considered life threatening. Schwartz underwent emergency surgery for life-threatening injuries and died at Nebraska Medicine on Monday.

The crash remains under investigation.
