Woman Dead After North Omaha Crash

An Omaha woman is dead after an early morning crash near 46th and Sorensen Parkway. Omaha Police say a Chevy Tahoe was eastbound around 3:15 a.m. when the driver began drifting to the left.

Investigators say the driver over corrected back to the right and struck the curb and a jersey barrier. The vehicle then flipped over as it went airborne.

Police say it then went down an embankment and came to rest in the back parking lot of an apartment complex at near 46th and Redman.

The driver, 34 year old Deana Lewis, was partially ejected and pronounced dead at the scene. Police say she was the only person in the vehicle.
