Cass County Sheriff's Office: 16 year old Louisville boy shot by father

The Cass County Sheriff's Office says a 16 year old boy is in serious condition after being shot by his father Monday morning.

According to a media release from the Sheriff's Office, late Monday morning deputies were called to a disturbance on East Park Highway near Highway 50, south of Louisville. At that time, investigators say the teen got into a verbal disturbance with his parents, but deputies were able to de-escalate the situation and leave the scene.

The Sheriff's Office says about ten minutes later, as a deputy was headed to the Cass County Attorney’s Office to discuss removing the boy from the home, they were called back to the same home after a shooting was reported.

Clarence Moxey was arrested and placed in Cass County Corrections facility. He is facing charges of felony assault with a firearm as well as additional charges, pending investigation, according to the release.

Investigators say the teen was transported by Lifenet to Bergan Mercy hospital in Omaha, where his condition was reported to be “serious but stable” as of Monday afternoon.
