Elkhorn long-term care facility reports another COVID-19 death

A long-term care facility in Elkhorn is reporting another COVID-19 coronavirus death on Thursday.

In a media release, the Life Care Center said the resident died overnight of COVID-19. The facility also says that five more residents have tested positive for the disease. As of Thursday six residents have died from coronavirus and 57 residents have tested positive.

According to the release, 79 residents have been tested since April 27, when the virus was first identified at the center.

Another employee has also tested positive, bringing that total to 27. Two employees have since recovered, but 25 remain "out sick," the release states. To date, 20 residents and 59 employees have tested negative, according to the Life Care Center release.
