Lincoln, Nebraska - The Nebraska Department of Transportation reports there were 24 traffic deaths on Nebraska roads during the month of October.
Statistics show there were 24 fatalities that occurred in 22 crashes. Eleven of the 19 vehicle occupants killed were not wearing seat belts.
There were two deadly accidents on the interstate, twelve on highways and ten on local roads. Fifteen of the crashes were in rural locations.
Two of the fatalities were motorcyclists and three were pedestrians.
As of October 31st, there have been 211 traffic fatalities on Nebraska roads so far this year.
