Update: Driver Dead After Crashing Into Lincoln Chick-Fil-A

UPDATE: LINCOLN, Nebraska - More details have been released after an incident at the Chick-Fil-A at 27th and Pine Lake Road in Lincoln.

Police Chief Jeff Bliemeister says a disgruntled customer caused a disturbance inside the restaurant. That man then got into his truck and backed through the west side of the building. Police say the man continued to cause a disturbance.

A Burlington Northern Santa Fe Senior Special Agent was at the scene and noticed the man had an additional weapon. That special agent shot the man who backed into the building.

Police say the weapon the man had was not a gun. The shooting happened outside the restaurant and the man died at the scene. When Lincoln Police arrived, the special agent was performing CPR on the man. He died at the scene.

The investigation continues and Lincoln Police are getting a search warrant so they can search the man's home. They have no other information to release about the man and his name has not been released.

Lincoln Police are investigating the death of a person who drove into the Chick-Fil-A building at 27th and Pine Lake Road around 1:10 Tuesday afternoon.

Officer Luke Bonklewicz says there is no ongoing threat to the public. The scene is safe.

Witnesses told 1011 NOW news that a shooting took place after the vehicle crashed into the building.

Lincoln Police plan to release more details as they become available. The investigation continues.
