Driver Sentenced In Deadly Crash

A woman that caused a deadly accident last April at Highway 75 and Lake Street is sentenced to 4 to 6 years in prison. 24 year old Meghan Moyers was also credited to for time served.

Investigators say Moyers' vehicle hit the bumper of another driven by Jerome Payton Jr. Payton's vehicle then slid off the road, hit a pole and rolled. He was thrown from the vehicle and died at the scene.

Records show that Moyers told investigators that the Payton's vehicle had stopped in the middle of the road.

She later pleaded guilty to manslaughter.
