Traffic lights are now in place at Highway 50 and Platteview Road near Springfield.
That has been a deadly intersection in the past
Drivers on Highway 50 will now need to stop at a red light. There are also lighted signs alerting drivers of the change prior to reaching the traffic signal.
6 News reports that intersection will be busier than normal this week with the start of the Sarpy County Fair on Wednesday. Sarpy County Sheriff's deputies will be on duty watching to make sure the flow remains steady and keep an extra eye on that intersection.
These are temporary traffic signals. Permanent ones could be installed in about a year and a half
