Revenge Porn Law Advances In Nebraska Legislature

A bill to outlaw revenge porn in Nebraska has advanced in the Nebraska Legislature. Initial approval was given Thursday to Lincoln Senator Adam Morfeld's bill, which makes it illegal to distribute or threaten to distribute a private image of a nude person or someone engaged in sexual activity.

Morfeld says the bill also allows prosecutors to use more discretion on the issue of consensual sharing of images between two minors.

Nebraska is one of seven states that have not passed a law to crack down on the practice known as "revenge porn," or non-consensual pornography.
