Two Men Critically Injured In Separate Shootings

Omaha Police say two men were critically injured in separate shootings early Thursday morning. The first one happened near the entrance of the Bob Kerrey Pedestrian Bridge around 1:45 a.m.

Investigators say 20 year old Chiok Tut was shot after a large crowd had gathered. Police are talking to witnesses.

Three minutes after that call, officers responded to a second shooting near 16th and Phelps, which is just west of the Omaha Henry Doorly Zoo and Aquarium.

Omaha police say 19 year old Rico Minzel was maced and then shot. Minzel made it home where his family called 911. Minzel was taken to the hospital in critical condition.

Police have not said if they have any suspects in custody. The investigations are continuing. Anyone with information about either shooting is urged to contact Omaha Crime Stoppers at 444-STOP.

Tips leading to the arrest are eligible for an enhanced reward of $10,000.
