100 Cats Fly To Pacific Northwest From Omaha Friday

On Friday morning, April 26th, more than 100 cats will take flight from Omaha to Seattle. Pam Wiese with the Nebraska Humane Society tells NewsRadio 1110 KFAB that GreaterGood.org provided the 106 crates needed to make the transport and Wings of Rescue is paying for the air travel.

Wiese says this comes at a critical time for the shelter. This will make space for the influx of cats and kittens that arrive each year. It will also provide more space for cats they are temporarily housing for flood victims. It will also help Insure space for new cats during a major renovation of the adoption center that is set to start next month.

All of the cats transported will sheltered until good homes are found.
