Flooded Bellevue Homeowners Receive City Instructions

Bellevue is sending certified mail letters to all residents of whose residents are deemed unsafe or unfit for human occupancy due to the damage and contaminates from the flood waters.

If a citizen's dwelling requires demolition, it is the responsibility of the owner to present a path forward with the direction they intend to take to correct the issue to the Bellevue Permits Department for review within 10 days of receipt of the letter.

All manufactured, modular and mobile homes located in Paradise Park and Green Acres damaged as a result of the flood have been deemed uninhabitable and their factory certifications are no longer valid. Therefore, without a current valid certification, these homes must be removed.

Those impacted should contact the Permits and Inspections Department at 402-293-3014 or at 1510 Wall Street in Bellevue.Normal business hours are Monday-Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Residents of Green Acres and Paradise Lake should continue to follow Bellevue Police and City of Bellevue Facebook and Twitter accounts for the most current up to date information. Those sites can be located by visiting the Bellevue Police and City of Bellevue websites.

City of Bellevue officials continue to monitor the conditions of the dwellings affected and will provide further updates as they become available.
