Fire Union President Pleads No Contest To Assault, Disorderly Conduct

Omaha Firefighters union president Steve LeClair has pleaded no contest to misdemeanor charges of assault and disorderly conduct.

The charges stem from claims by a woman who told police LeClair had punched her in the back at a bar, knocking her out of her chair and onto the bar. The woman also claimed LeClair made a racist remark while inside Tiger Tom's bar

LeClair was fired from his job as a firefighter on February 22nd following an investigation. He initially pleaded not guilty. Each offense is punishable by up to six months in jail, a $500 fine or both.

Sentencing is scheduled for June 13.
