Omaha Police say one person was killed in a crash that started on Woolworth Street and ended on I-480 late Wednesday morning.
Police tell NewsRadio 1110 KFAB the driver of an SUV was traveling eastbound on Woolworth at a very high rate of speed and went through a chain link fence. The vehicle then went airborne over an embankment and landed in the southbound center lane of I-480.
The vehicle then came to rest on the concrete median. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene. The crash shut down the interstate between Dodge and Martha as police continue to investigate.
The name of the driver has not been released.
