Substitute Teacher Placed On Leave After Students Report Concerns

There are reports that another Omaha Public Schools employee has been placed on leave pending an investigation into inappropriate contact.

In a letter sent to parents and staff, King Science Principal Dr. Amy Williams explained that they have been looking in to claims against a substitute teacher.

Good Afternoon King Science and Technology Magnet Staff and Families:

We want you to know that we were recently made aware of student concerns regarding a long-term substitute teacher assigned to King Science and Technology Magnet.

We take reports like this very seriously. We immediately contacted our Human Resources department. They placed the staff member on administrative leave pending an investigation. We also contacted Child Protective Services.

At this time, we cannot share additional details. As a reminder to our staff and families, if there is ever a concern regarding inappropriate conduct, reports can be made to the Child Abuse Hotline at 1-800-652-1999.

Thank you for your continued support of King Science and Technology Magnet and Omaha Public Schools.

Sincerely,

Dr. Amy Williams, Interim Principal
