Stolen Gun Found In Car With Four Lincoln Teenagers

Lincoln Police say they recovered a stolen gun after stopping a car with four teenagers Monday afternoon.  The teenagers were reportedly shooting BB guns at vehicles in the area of 35th and T Street.

Officers contacted the teenagers and smelled marijuana coming from the vehicle. The three 17-year-old males and an an 18-year-old were asked to step out of the vehicle. 

Officers found over 40 grams of marijuana and a stolen 9mm handgun inside of a backpack belonging to 18-year-old Xavier Wheeler.  The gun was reported stolen from an unlocked vehicle near 27th and Old Cheney on September 16. 

Wheeler was arrested for possession of a stolen firearm, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and discharging a spring operated gun in the city. 

The three 17-year-olds were referred to the county attorney for unlawfully discharging a spring loaded weapon in the city.  Three AK47 style airsoft guns were recovered from the vehicle.
