Former Restaurant Manager Takes Plea Deal In Sexual Assault Case

A former Omaha restaurant manager accused of sexually harassing employees has pleaded guilty to reduced charges of assault. John Thompson had managed the LOCAL Beer, Patio and Kitchen location downtown prior to the accusations.

Police reports said multiple women who worked with Thompson were touched inappropriately by the manager. Prior to a plea agreement he was charged with five counts of Third Degree Sexual Assault, one count of Third Degree Assault and six counts of Disturbing the Peace.

The charges were all misdemeanors and Thompson was scheduled for trial on Wednesday, but in a deal with prosecutors he pleaded guilty to four counts of Third Degree Assault.

Sentencing is scheduled for January.
