Lincoln Couple Attacked By Neighbor During Dispute

Lincoln Police say a couple suffered injuries during an attack by their neighbor following an argument Wednesday evening.

Authorities say around 4:45, officers responded to a home near 28th and Q streets for a report of a disturbance. Officers contacted the victims, a 37 year old male and a 36 year old female, who said they’d been in a fight with two males.

The victims and one suspect, 35 year old Andrew Love, are neighbors and had been arguing over several issues, including an allegedly stolen phone and alleged back rent that was due to the victims. According to the victims, Love used a bat to assault the male victim while the yet-to-be identified second suspect hit the male victim in the shins with a golf club. The female victim reported that Love hit her in the head with the baseball bat and in the face with the golf club.

The male victim suffered a contusion to the top of his head, injuries to both of his shins (split open), a two inch puncture mark on his right side and a swollen wrist. The female victim suffered visible injuries to her hands and face, as well as a gash to the back of her head.

Officers arrested Andrew Love for two counts of Second Degree Assault and Use of a Weapon to Commit a Felony. The second suspect has still not been identified or arrested.
