Man Arrested After Vandalizing Business Overnight

A Kansas man is behind bars in Omaha after allegedly vandalizing a metro business and pulling a gun on witnesses overnight.

Authorities say the incident happened shortly after midnight at Custom Computing near Papillion Parkway and Mill Valley Road. When a cleaning crew arrived at Custom Computing, they found a man inside who was throwing furniture and office equipment.

The crew told police that the intruder drew a gun and ordered them down to the ground. When he resumed the damage campaign, the crew ran and called police. Officers arrived and the man ran out of the building moments later. Police were able to catch the suspect and he was placed under arrest. Police say they found evidence that he also tried to set the building on fire.

Investigators say their alleged vandal is a contract roofer from Kansas who was staying in a nearby hotel. He’s facing several charges including attempted arson and discharging a weapon.
