CB Voters Green Light School Improvement Plan

Two Council Bluffs will be getting some much needed improvements  Results of a special election vote are now official and voters have given the green light to the renovation for Kirn and Wilson Middle Schools.

The improvements will cost an estimated $37 million. District officials said the schools need a lot of work. Part of the bond money would improve building systems and making the buildings more energy efficient. The renovation would also make the schools more accessible for all students.

In a Facebook post the district stated: "We will begin right away to work with the architects to finalize the designs and plans to complete the projects as proposed. As these designs are being finalized, we will provide an opportunity for parent and public input, and communicate with parents and all key stakeholders along the way.

"We are eager to get started so that our students may benefit from the facilities improvements for many years to come, and will work diligently to make the next few years go very smoothly for our students, families and staff."
